SUMMARY:Indiana ILG May 10\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:Indiana ILG Meeting \nIn person RSVP/Agenda \nBosma Corporate Office– 6270 Corporate Dr. 46278 \nMay 10\, 2024 \nNetworking/Breakfast-8:30am \n9:00am-9:10am–Welcome \n9:10am-9:25am—Brandon Skates—EEOC \n9:25am-9:40am–David Smith-OFCCP \n10:00am-11:30pm—Guest Speaker-Alissa Horvitz—Attorney at Roffman-Horvitz \nSpeaker Bio-Alissa Horvitz is a Member Attorney in the Northern Virginia law firm she co-founded with her friend and partner Josh Roffman. Roffman Horvitz focuses its practice in the legal space where employment law and data analytics intersect. In addition to preparing affirmative action plans\, helping employers that are being audited by OFCCP\, and conducting privileged pay equity analyses and adverse impact analyses\, Roffman Horvitz conducts analyses of applicant tracking systems and performs mock internal audits\, also under attorney client privilege.  Alissa is a member of the Washington Metro ILG and the Baltimore ILG. She enjoys presenting at local\, regional\, and national ILG conferences. \nTopic \nBalancing EEO\, Affirmative Action\, Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion. Learning the path of what is possible and what may create risk of non-compliance.  Let’s talk about it! \nAs federal government contractors\, we have a legal obligation to engage in affirmative action for women\, minorities\, individuals with disabilities\, and veterans\, in addition to ensuring equal opportunity in all facets of employment decision making\, including hiring\, promoting\, terminating\, and compensating.  So how does affirmative action\, as well as diversity and inclusion\, work in practice\, in reality\, when we read in the media about all these organizations who are being challenged for the initiatives they thought were lawful?  How are we supposed to engage in affirmative action and balance equal opportunity at the same time?  If we are committed to diversity\, equity\, and inclusion\, where do we go from here?  What data can we ask for and use\, and if there’s some data we can’t get\, how can we make the most of the data we already have? \n11:30am-11:40–Joyce Morgan—PDC Updates \n11:45am to 12pm–Wrap up—Current Chair—Recognitions/Thank you \nElection Results—Lori \n\n***Please RSVP by April 29th.  If you do not plan to attend\, it is appreciated if you could still use the RSVP option and select that you do not plan to attend. \n\n
